Searching and Sorting

Searching and sorting in the Table Content view both happen on the server: Querious turns those into WHERE and ORDER BY clauses, so they cover the whole table, not just the rows loaded so far. (To search only within the displayed rows, use Find within Rows).

Searching table content

Searching #

You can search using:

  • One or more columns by value
  • A custom WHERE clause
  • Full Text (MySQL)
  • Full Text / tsquery (PostgreSQL)
Search menu options

You can also open the search as a custom query in the Query view, or copy the raw SQL, using the menu on the right side of the Search button:

Searching by Column #

Choose a column in the first popup (currently set to "Show All") and a comparison in the second, type a value, and press Return. Click to add more conditions. Multiple conditions are ANDed together. For mixing AND and OR write a custom WHERE clause.

Custom WHERE Clauses #

For anything the popups can't express, choose WHERE in the first popup and type the clause.

Saved Searches #

Save a search you use often, then pick it from Saved Searches in the first popup.

  1. Set up the search.
  2. Choose Saved SearchesSave Search… in the first popup and name it.

Edit Saved Searches… in the same menu renames and deletes them. To apply a saved search automatically whenever you open the table, make it the Default Search in Table View Options.

Sorting #

Click a column header to sort by it. Click again to reverse the order, and a third time to stop sorting by it.

To sort by several columns, right-click a column header and choose Add to Sort – Ascending or Add to Sort – Descending for each, in order of priority. Clear Sorting removes them all.

To sort a table the same way every time, set Sort By in Table View Options.

Row Limits #

Using the limit control at the top of the Table Content view, you can change the how many rows load at once and to page forward and back between groups. Click its middle segment to change the limit.

The default is Limit results to in the Table Content preferences, and Table View Options can set a different limit per table so you don't need to keep changing it.

You can also use the EditorPrevious Row Group and Next Row Group menu items to move between groups.
