Favorites
Marking the handful of objects you actually use so they stand out in a list of hundreds.
Almost every schema has a small number of objects you open constantly and a long tail you never touch. Marking the first group as favorites gives them a visible marker in the primary sidebar, so your eye finds them without reading names.
Marking a Favorite #
To add objects to favorites
-
Select one or more objects in the primary sidebar.
-
Right-click the selection.
-
Choose Add to Favorites.
The same menu shows when the object you clicked is already one. Schemas can be favorites too, which is useful on a server where only two of forty schemas matter to you.
How Favorites Are Stored #
Favorites are saved with the connection, not with the document or the window, so they persist across quits and reconnects and travel with that saved connection. Two connections to the same server keep separate favorites, which is what you want when one is a production connection and the other a local copy.
Because a favorite is remembered by name, renaming an object in the sidebar leaves the old name marked. Re-add the object under its new name if that happens.
