Tabs and Windows
Mix and match several servers or editors within the same window.
Every connection window can hold any number of tabs, like a web browser. Each tab has its own connection, navigation history, selection, query editors, etc, and tabs can be connected to the same server or to entirely different ones.
Opening Tabs and Windows #
Unlike some other database tools where you double-click on an item in the sidebar to permanently open that item in a new tab, Querious tabs are far more flexible, because they are like an entirely new window.
| File Menu item | What it does |
|---|---|
New Connection Tab New Connection Window |
Opens a new tab/window showing the connection screen. |
New Connected Tab New Connected Window |
Opens a tab/window already connected to the same server as the current tab. |
You can also open a specific object directly into a new tab or window:
Opening a Table/View/etc in a New Tab or Window:
-
Select a table in the primary sidebar
-
Right-click on it
-
Choose Open in New Tab or Open in New Window
You can use this same trick to open several at the same time in separate tabs.
To disconnect from the server, just close the tab or window.
Rearranging Tabs #
- Drag a tab along the tab bar to reorder it.
- Drag a tab from one window into another window's tab bar to move it there.
- Drag a tab out of the window entirely to tear it off into a new window of its own.
- keeps the tab bar visible even when a window has only one tab.
Customize what is displayed in the tab's title area in Querious's preferences.
