Server Users view — MySQL
Use the Users view to create and edit users on the MySQL server and control their privileges.
In MySQL a user is actually the combination of a user name and host. The same user name may have multiple distinct sets of privileges depending on the host that user connects from.
Querious organizes these by user, with each user's allowed hosts nested beneath it.
Creating a User #
-
Click the Add button below the Users list and choose Add User….
-
Type the name into the new row and press Return.
The user starts by default with a single wildcard host (%), allowing connections from anywhere. (See the MySQL documentation for information about wildcards.)
Changing a Password #
-
For all hosts Select the user and click All Hosts… in the Password section on the right side of the view.
-
For one host Expand the user, select a host, and click the button in the Password section labeled for that host. Passwords for other hosts are unchanged.
Editing Privileges #
-
Expand the user and select one of its hosts.
-
For privileges that apply everywhere, select Global Privileges in the Privileges Scope list. They apply to all databases and tables that have no override.
-
For privileges limited to one database or table (or even a specific column!), select that object, then simply turn on the privileges on the right side of the view.
