Query Results

Reading, editing, and exporting what a query returned.

Running several statements produces several results, and Querious keeps them all. The results area below the editor lists each one with its rows, messages, or errors.

Several Results at Once #

Each statement gets its own entry:

  • SELECT statements show the resulting rows.
  • UPDATE or DELETE show affected row counts.
  • Other queries show a success or error message.

Select a result in the list on the left to view it.

Editable and Read-Only Results #

An indicator image in the bottom bar below the result rows indicates whether they're editable or not. A result is editable when each row can be traced to a single source table by a primary key; Otherwise, the rows are read-only .

For example: A plain SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE ... is usually editable; a join, aggregate, or computed column isn't.

Editable results can be changed in place just like the Content view, and Querious writes the UPDATE for you.

To edit rows a query found

  1. Write a plain SELECT from one table that includes its primary key.
  2. Check that the results are editable.
  3. Edit values directly in the results rather than having to go to the Table Content view.
