Selected Database / Search Path
Type SQL in the Query view, run it, and see the results below. Queries you run are remembered, and you can save the ones you reuse.
Selected Database — MySQL #
In MySQL, the connection has the concept of the "current" database that's "in use." (USE mydbname) Any time a schema object like a table is referenced without explicitly naming its database (SELECT * FROM mytable), MySQL assumes it's in the current database.
Querious lets you pick what this current selected database is from a filterable menu. You can also choose None to return back to there being no selected database.
Search Path – PostgreSQL #
In Postgres, the connection has the concept of the "search path." (SET search_path = …) Any time a schema object like a table is referenced without explicitly naming its database (SELECT * FROM mytable), Postgres will search for that table, in each schema listed in the search path.
Normally you wouldn't need to change the search path because the standard convention is to put all tables etc in the public schema (which is part of the default search path), but you can change it if you need to.
